βI want every day to be a fresh start on expanding what is possible.ββ Oprah Winfrey
When we moved into our white castle five years ago the day before Thanksgiving, I was pregnant with Dakota and Montana. We had just opened our raw vegan restaurant three doors down from Prana Power Yoga Newton. We were homeschooling our kids. That was a crazy but fun time.
What made me laugh again and again was when people would come into the white castle for the first time β before saying anything about the views out of our kitchen windows (which are spectacular) β they would say, "Oh my God! You have a Miele!"
Really? Is a coffee machine really that interesting?
Ahem, a "coffee system."
This thing is a force to be reckoned with.
I didn't drink coffee, never had, so I just didn't get it.
Fast forward a couple years . . . I had the "brilliant" idea to rip out the Miele to free up counter space. And I intended to sell it on craigslist. None of us drink coffee so why keep it? Counter space is prime real estate in a family of seven after all.
So we ripped that coffee system out and I attempted to sell it on craigslist β for a song β but just get kept getting responses from dishonest people who were trying to scam.
Thank you Universe.
Fast forward a year. After we lived for in Paris for a summer, my love for coffee was born.
That's some good sh**!
I can't believe it took me almost 5 decades to cultivate a taste for it.
So now I love love love coffee and love love love our Miele, which I put back into the wall, and adorned with jewels β see photo.
I love so many things about this coffee system β like how sassy it is. It will tell you to do things with an exclamation point! At first I felt slightly offended.
It's also very yogic. It tells you every so often, "Please empty the waste."
That's what we do every time we show up to our yoga mat. We empty the waste. We empty the negative thoughts. We clear out the fear. We clean house. We clean the slate. We let it all go. We clear it all away. We take out the trash.
Have you practiced today?
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!
