I get approached by people and companies and publicists a lot to write about them, eat their stuff, wear their stuff, use their stuff, etc. etc. It’s all good - hey, I get it. I *usually* say, “No, thank you” because I walk my talk and only sponsor and promote things I LOVE LOVE LOVE and believe in.
New Balance was a different story. This company has integrity and has it goin’ on - and the founders live next door to my BFF in Newton, Mass - our hometown. And the Davis’ are big givers — they donated a track to the Newton YMCA, which we enjoy regularly.
So, what did they send me? These kick a** shoes and outfit (see photo). Now I be a straight shooter and even if I were BFF’s with the founders, if I didn’t love their products, I wouldn’t say I did.
I LOVE THESE SHOES AND CLOTHES.
I am way picky about shoes and in fact, rolled my ankle running in August so have been LOOKING for better shoes (thank you, Universe!) and man, these shoes are the bomb. They utilize new technology and are called Fresh Foam 1080 and I don’t know a speck about why they so great but I do know they are great, so google it and read up if ya don’t believe me. I’m just not into the technology stuff but girlfriend’s been an athlete since I trained for the Olympics in figure skating at age 5, so I know what’s good. I was also psyched by the color they happened to send because it matches a fluorescent down coat I got at Target for $20 in the girls department he he. Again, synchronicity! You KNOW I believe in ‘em!
Now the clothes … they’re called trinamic, and I have been given my share of very nice yoga clothing over the last 20 years, and I have never EVER felt a fabric like this, nor had a fit like this. Philippe was like, “Okay, so we’ve (finally!) found your brand for athletic gear.” I’m reading the pamphlet now and it says that the reason it feels so different (and it does!) is “it gives it the unique ability to stretch further with less resistance, but still recover for optimal performance.” I just thought it felt wicked soft he he.
So get out there and buy these Fresh Foam 1080 shoes and this trinamic athletic gear because it’s the real deal, as is New Balance.
