When my husband Philippe was in his 20s and early 30s and people would ask him when he was going to get married, he would joke, "I'm waiting for the second round."
Philippe is very smart and funny and quickwitted, and this would of course engage the person to ask more. So he would explain that he was going to wait for someone who had married once, learned what she wanted and didn't want, and was ready to have the best marriage ever – hence, "the second round."
He had a very positive energy and lightness about it, and he said it consistently.
And look what happened. Best ever!
