I get up at 4 AM every morning to practice yoga. I have done so for over a decade. I set my intention to do so years ago when we were teaching a yoga retreat in St. John. I was reading a book by Wayne Dyer called The Power of Intention and he was talking about how he woke up every day at 4 AM to write. I thought, “I want that.” It took time for it to unfold but it was in my mind. The seed had been planted.
After I practice at 4 I jump on cardio in my gym/garage and write. This time is precious to me. There’s no place I would rather be.
This morning as I jumped on cardio I laughed when I realized I had left my glasses inside. I scooted back in to get my glasses and as I reached for them I glanced at Alexa. There was the most precious video playing with Dakota trying to walk. He was toddling and walking and then falling down and trying again. My heart grew 10 sizes bigger.
As I walked back out to the garage I thought, “Had I not forgotten my glasses and gone back in I would not have seen that video that gave me so much love and joy.
Three lessons here.
One. Plant the seed set the intention and then let it unfold in divine timing. I wanted to do what Wayne Dyer was doing that day in St John but the timing wasn’t right yet. When the timing was right and it unfolded it was something that was sustainable.
Second lesson. When things don’t go as you want them to or you stumble and fall or forget something i.e. my glasses, don’t freak out about it. Be light about it, laugh, smile whatever and move forward. I know the glasses seems like a silly example but everything is the same. Everything is a mirror to your inner world and therefore your life because your inner world creates the life around you. The fact that I was light about it and didn’t get annoyed meant the next moment could be magical. I was in a state of allowing not resisting. That’s why I got to see the video of little Dakota learning to walk.
Third lesson. Enjoy the scenery on a detour. Everything is a manifestation. We think we are going for the big goal at the end but every feeling, every sweet video, every beautiful cloud you see in the sky, every emotion that feels good on the way is a manifestation. It’s not just that big thing. In fact, that end result will make you happy for about a minute and then you will be onto something else.
So whatever you’re shooting for, whatever you’re going for, whatever you’re living through, whatever is going on, find a feeling now that feels good and focus on it. It’s the feeling you’re going for my friends not the end result. The end result will come about because of the feeling you are emanating. As Wayne Dyer said so wisely, you have to believe it (and I would add feel it) to see it. It’s not the other way around. And of course the ultimate irony is that you are going for that big thing because you think you’ll feel better in the having of it. And if you find the feeling now, you already have the feeling which is what you were going for. And then by law, the law of attraction, the end result the big thing must come to you.
Have the BEST DAY EVER! ✨🌟💫
